Haynes HR160 (UNS N12160) alloy is solid solution reinforced nickel-cobalt-chromium-silicon alloy with outstanding resistance to various high temperature corrosion attack. 2.4880 / Alloy HR 160 / Haynes HR 160 alloy has excellent resistance to sulfidation and chloride attack in both reducing and oxidizing environments. The alloy also has extremely good resistance to oxidation, hot corrosion, carburization, metal dust, nitration and corrosion attack by low melting point compounds such as those formed by phosphorus, vanadium and other impurities. 2.4880 / Alloy HR-160 / Haynes HR-160 is suitable for applications in high temperature corrosive environments resulting from the combustion of low grade fuels or the processing of chemical raw materials with corrosive contaminants such as sulfur, chlorine, fluorine, vanadium, phosphorus and others. The alloy can withstand temperatures up to 1204 ° C (2200 ° F)
Haynes Hr 160 Plate Applications
HAYNES 242 alloy combines properties which make it ideally suited for a variety of component applications in aero and industrial gas turbine engines. It may be used for seal rings, containment rings, duct segments, casings, fasteners, rocket nozzles, pumps, and many others. In the chemical process industry, 242 alloy will find use in high-temperature vapor-containing processes as a consequence of its excellent resistance to that environment. The alloy also displays excellent resistance to high-temperature fluoride salt mixtures. The high strength and fluorine environment-resistance of 242 alloy has also been shown to provide for excellent service in fluoroelastomer process equipment, such as extrusion screws.
