5J20 Bimetallic Alloy Introduction

The 5J20 series of thermobimetallic materials (usually referring to grades like 5J20110) are highly sensitive thermobimetallic materials that belong to the thermobimetallic category (5J) of precision alloys. This type of composite material is made of two or more layers of metals or alloys with different expansion coefficients firmly bonded together. When the temperature changes, due to the different thermal expansion coefficients of the component layers, they will bend or rotate, thereby converting thermal energy into mechanical energy.


5J20 Bimetallic Alloy Application

Due to its high sensitivity, 5J20110 is commonly used in the manufacture of various temperature-sensitive components, with wide applications in:

Electro-vacuum devices: For example, non-magnetic, non-matching ceramic seals in gyroscopes.

Automatic control equipment: Thermal sensors in various temperature measurement, control, and compensation devices.

Electrical protection: Thermal sensors in electrical protection devices such as thermal relays, circuit breakers, and motor overload protectors (especially where high sensitivity or low-current direct heating is required).

5J20 Bimetallic Alloy Selection and Usage Considerations

Pay Attention to Consistency: Batch-to-batch consistency in the properties of thermo-bimetallic materials (such as thermal expansion coefficient and resistivity) is crucial. Select a reliable supplier and review their quality documentation.
