Ti12Mo6Zr2Fe is a BETA titanium alloy Rod without Vanadium developed for orthopaedics. Its properties allow excellent mechanical properties, a low elasticity modulus, a good corrosion and fatigue resistance, besides a good durability. Furthermore, the absence of Aluminium and Vanadium makes it a good biocompatibility.

Characteristic
High Strength:This alloy offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, which is crucial for implants that need to withstand mechanical stresses without adding excessive weight to the patient's body.
Biocompatibility:Like other titanium alloys, Ti12Mo6Zr2Fe is highly biocompatible, meaning it is not harmful or toxic to living tissue. This reduces the risk of rejection and complications post-surgery.
Corrosion Resistance:The alloy's excellent corrosion resistance ensures the longevity and stability of implants in the harsh environment of the human body.
Improved Wear Resistance:The specific composition of this alloy, including molybdenum, zirconium, and iron, enhances its wear resistance compared to pure titanium. This is particularly important for joint replacements and other implants subject to repetitive motion.

Ti12Mo6Zr2Fe (TMZF) alloy is a metastable β-type titanium alloy with the following core medical uses and characteristics in the biomedical field:
I. Main medical uses
Artificial bone implants
TMZF alloy is widely used in bone implants such as artificial hip joints and femoral stems, especially in prosthetic components of biological total hip replacements13.
Orthopedic fixation devices
Used in internal fixation devices such as bone screws, bone plates and implant rods, its mechanical properties can meet the needs of load-bearing bone repair
II. Typical application scenarios
Artificial hip joints: used in conjunction with biological total hip joint systems4.
Dental implants: hard tissue replacement devices such as artificial tooth roots
